Classic Elegance by Susan 8mm and Digital Transfers


Step 1: Cleaning and Prep. Before 8mm Transfer
Your film is cleaned, restored, and repaired if necessary. We usually find regular 8 and super 8mm home movie film to be in good condition. You will be contacted if the film is in poor condition and cannot be converted. Three inch film reels may be spliced on to larger reels with leader material left on to separate individual movies.

Step 2: Digitizing During 8mm Film Transfer
We use our own telecine equipment which passes the light image of the movie film directly into a professional video camera. No screen or frosted glass is used in the conversion (such as the consumer film to video box from the 1970's). The entire frame of film is visible during the conversion. The standard film gate of an 8mm or super 8mm film projector would cut out some of the image, but we capture out to the edge of the sprocket holes. Our cameras are professional 3CCD cameras from Sony . This setup is optimized for recording very small images such as 8mm film frames.

Over 2 hours (120 min.) of  footage is placed on 2 or more DVD's  to produce the highest level of quality.

The price for slides or any image is .69 cents each, plus $5.95 to burn to a CD in jpeg or tiff format.
 
Resolution level on the CD cabable of 4 x 6 's, 5 x 7's and  8x 10's  print.

 Slide show DVD of the images, an additional $55.00 would apply for the  creation of the DVD which includes, a menu, standard music, chapters,  two title pages and transitions. 150 images for a 10 minute viewing presentation.

The price for 8mm films  and regular 8 films is priced  per the length of the film,  this includes  standard instrumental music  at no additional cost, added titles on the DVD are $2.50 extra per title page.
  The prices for 8mm regular &  super 8 silent film  is .20 cents per foot,  examples:
- 3 inch reel  approx. 50 ft
 $10.00,  3-5 min. viewing time
 - 5 inch reel is $40.00, approx. 200 ft, 15 min. viewing time
- 6 inch reel is  $60.00, approx.
300 ft.  22 min. viewing time
 
 The film would be cleaned and sprockets mended if necessary before the transfer to DVD. 
 
 We offer a preview DVD if you wish to put them in a particular order or have any portion deleted or edited for $15.00 min. or $1.50 per film segment.
 
At an additional charge we can  customize your DVD with your choice of music, chapters and titles if desired.
